A glob of mucus. A mucus plug is a glob of mucus from the cervix that may be passed hours, days or even weeks before labor occurs. It may be streaked with some blood. Passing the mucus plug when you are nearing your due date is normal and is usually of no concern.
Cervical mucus. The mucus plug is made up of thick cervical mucus that your body forms as soon as you're pregnant. The mucus protects and prevents anything from traveling up the cervix. 72 hours before labor, your cvx begins to change and the mucus loosens and mixes w/ blood from cervical change until it falls out as a "plug." Your cvx will continue to make mucus and you may have more discharge afterwards.
The mucus. That comes at of a pregnant cervix near or at term or sometimes way before.
Variable. It can look like a formed glob of material about the size of a hockey pcuk or it can liquify and look like mucus from your nose.

Will be thick not thin could be many differnt colors including blood tinged, mucus plug coming out near your due date is normal, if you are worried about anything then call your OB 24/7 just like my pts can call me and a recent study shows the ideal time to deliver is 39-40 for the baby, so don't go past your due date, I don't let any of my pts go past and they all thank me for it.
Varies. The appearance of the mucus plug varies but the general idea is that it looks like thick glob of mucus; slightly white and sometimes with a little blood in it.

Ovulation. 2 weeks and five days would be a sufficient time interval for you to having an ovulation. Many women around this time notice an increase in what is typically a clear thin mucus. This would be my best answer, even though describe your's as a mucus plug.
