Age, Stage dependent
Age of 45 is the cutoff, combined with stage.
Then the specific type of tumor will be significant. For the most common, papillary carcinoma, there is a >98% 20-year survival for all stage i and ii tumors (which account for all tumors in patients <45 years old). If older than 45, then the numbers decrease -- but are still great: 90% 10-year survival!
