How does bladder cancer affect your body?

Varies. Bladder cancer may be found early and treated with local (intravesicular, intra = in, vesicular = bladder) therapy by a urologist. If the bladder cancer is muscle invasive surgery may be needed. Chemotherapy may be needed before or after surgery for advanced disease. Bladder cancer may present with blood in the urine or other urinary symptoms such as urinary frequency.
