What is the difference between uterine and cervical cancer?

Uterine cancer. The cervix is the opening of the womb (uterus). Most uterine cancers are from the lining of the uterus (the endometrium). They are treated by different types of hysterectomy .
Multiple. Cervical cancer is due to hpv in about 80% of cases, usually squamous cell, emiently preventable through pap screening and vaccination. Uterine cancers are mostly cancers of the endometrium, adenocarcinomas, usually hormone induced, mostly post-menopausal, no effective preventive or early detection strategy.
