In brief: Observation for Most

Lcis is somewhat of a misnomer in that it is not a cancer, but a "pre-malignant" condition in which there are abnormal cells present in the glands (lobules) of the breast.
Therefore patients with a diagnosis of lcis are at a higher risk of developing breast cancer than the general population and require closer observation and screening. Hormonal therapy may be used in those with very high risk.

In brief: Depends

If there is a mass, excision may be relevant and even bilateral excisions are occasionally indicated.
