In brief: Lifestyle factors
There are a few things you can do to lower your risk of breast cancer.
If you have a strong family history, consider getting checked for the brca genetic marker. On more practical basis, limit alcohol consumption to no more than a drink or 2 per day (and mostly red wine). There is some evidence that regular exercise and avoiding weight gain make a difference.
