In brief: Absolutely

Your plastic surgeon should provide you with a prescription for pain medication to be taken after your surgery.
Usually, however, the pain is not great and can be managed with tylenol (acetaminophen) within a couple days after the surgery.

In brief: Short term

It is appropriate to use a short term course of pain medications after a breast reduction surgery.
These surgeries can be at times extensive and somehow traumatic.

In brief: Pain

Why you think you would not get pain medications after major surgery?Your physician should have these answers for you.
I do agree with the physician specialists who have answered your question i wonder if thie question of pain meds would even be presented if a male had a surgery to remove his testicles or penis?Ask for the pain relief you need. The docs should explain pain scale 1-10.
