In brief: Vinegar & alcohol

Use a solution of 1/2 white vinegar, and 1/2 rubbing alcohol.
Place 5-10 drops in each ear after swimming, lying on each side for 5-10 minutes. If you feel you have an infection, use the drops 4 times a day. The alcohol dries the ear canal, and the white vinegar maintains a healthy acid/base balance (pH) to prevent infection.

In brief: Vinegar and water

1/2 strength white vinegar will make an acid environment in the ear that will cure most causes of swimmer's ear.
Or you can pay for a medication prescribed by a doctor that is 1/2 strength vinegar (acetic acid)!

In brief: SEE YOUR DOCTOR

You need prescription ear drops, do not swim till it clears, if painful take a pain killer like Motrin or Aleve (naproxen) if you are not allergic to those.
Non prescription ear drops are good for prevention but not for treatment.
