Yes and they are very important to a healthy pregnancy.
See your OB doctor right away. If your blood pressure is very bad, as if you should also be seen by a high risk OB specialist. Please don't wait.

In brief: Sort of

There is gestational hypertension (HTN) and preeclampsia, which is HTN along with proteinuria & edema of the hands/face.
In both cases the HTN usually resolves after delivery however, preeeclampsia is more serious and can be associated with poor fetal growth and can turn into eclampsia. Decreasing activity or bedrest helps but isn't curative.
