In brief: Marijuana and health

I would take the morality out of the question or the 'good' versus 'bad' with marijuana use.
Like any substance the over use of this product can lead to intoxication, addiction, and other health or mental health concerns. But, the direct effect of cannabis on the human tissue is not unhealthy in and of itself. Cannabis can be a good appetite stimulant, an anti-inflammatory, and anxiolytic.

Also, with additional research, we may find more benefits to marijuana use. Since most users prefer the inhalation route, we still have to deal with other toxic substances found in the smoke of cannibis. Finding a pure form and dispensing it in controlled dosage can definitely change the outcome of Marijuana.

In brief: Has some medical use

Though marijuana has not been shown to extend life, definitively reduce risk of diseases, or treat any pathologies, it certainly has some medical use.
Marijuana reduces pain in some patients and it also helps increase appetite for patients that keep losing weight because of their disease (like cancer). Marijuana is currently being studied for many illnesses and shows some promise.
