Every month I get an excruciating migraine right before my menstrual cycle. It lasts for 2 days or more...Are they related? What can I do to relieve the pain? Nothing seems to work.

In brief: Yes, related

Menstrual migraines are caused by dropping hormonal levels before menstruaton.
There are several treatment options and may include forms of hormonal contraception, pain medication, and other techniques, the options should be discussed with your doctor.

In brief: Likely related

Likely hormonally related.
Try to avoid stress, sugars, caffeine, chocolate, red wine around that time of the month. Anything that could cause muscle tightness. Also, taking natural mellowing agents like 5-hydroxytryptophane, chamomile, passion flower, skullcap, and valerian can help to sleep at night or to relax at day's end. Also could try a massage the day before you might expect symptoms.
