In brief: Food intolerance

A food intolerance is any reaction to a food that i can't explain physiologically for you.
You have symptoms, but i as your allergist cannot prove that they are due to a classic allergic reaction, lactose intolerance, celiac disease, a previous gallbladder operation, a viral infection, food poisonong or anything else that we do understand. It's vague, but means you don't feel good when you eat it.

In brief: Body doesn't like it

If you consume red #40 food dye and have cramps and loose poo, your body doesn't tolerate it although others may never have such symptoms.
I heard it is outlawed in Europe since so many react to it.The same goes for many other consumables, food additives, or some foods.By definition this is not something that triggers a positive allergy test. You just learn to keep track and avoid these things.
