In brief: Many treatments!

Leukemia is a cancer of the blood cells, and the person needs a workup that includes special lab tests to determine the exact subtype of leukemia--that will drive the selection of therapy.

In brief: Yes there is.....

There are many types of leukemia.
Pts with b-cell phenotypes tend to do better than those with t-cell dz. AML carries more risk. Children tend to do better than adolescents. There are also several molecular abnormalities with prognostic significance. Not enough room here to list. Taking all comers, survival for children with all is 80-85%. AML is closer to 60%. Ask if you need more specifics.
