What exactly is involved in hyperbaric oxygen therapy?

Hyperbaric oxygen. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is delivered in a chamber. It can be single person chamber or a multiplace chamber. 100% oxygen is delivered within the chamber under pressures equal to 2 to 2.5 atmospheres of pressure depending on the medical problem that you physician is treating. This is equal to 33 feet of seawater in pressure. The treatments last two to 2.5 hours; they are done daily.
O2 under pressure. Hyperbaric refers to an increase in the atmospheric pressure- or 'high pressure'. In terms of hbo ( hyperbaric oxygen ) therapy the oxygen is delivered to a person in a chamber that can be pressurized to 2, or 3 or 4 or more atmospheres above sea level pressure. When 100% oxygen is breathed under pressure the oxygen acts like a drug and has different effects like increased wound healing.
100% oxygen. A patient breathes in 100% in an enclosed chamber for 90-120 min .
