In brief: No, it's alive

The live attenuated influenza vaccine (laiv) is a live-virus nasal spray flu vaccine.
"attenuated" means the live-virus has been weakened so not to cause the flu in persons receiving the vaccine. Some people do get some sniffles or stuffy nose for 2-3 days, from the nasal spray FluMist vaccine.

In brief: No

Laiv stands for live attenuated influenza vaccine.
It is live but altered so as to only give minimal symptoms of illness while providing an immune response. The immune response should protect you against the real flu viruses.
