In brief: Depends

The type of bone grafting procedure and extent of the graft will determine what you would expect.
There are many types of grafts for the upper jaw including sinus lift bone graft, onlay grafting, ridge preservation after extraction, periodontal grafting, etc. Each one has its own recovery and post operative course. The majority of the time the discomfort is minimal to moderate.

In brief: Swelling discomfort

You should expect some swelling and maybe some discomfort but not something that is uncontrollable.
Stitches are usually placed and will dissolve or be removed at a later date.

In brief: Depends

It depends on the size of the graft that is needed.
Usually discomfort is less than when you had a tooth extracted. It is not unusual for the area to be sore and slightly swollen for a few days (2-3). Bleeding should be gone within 24 hours. Most patients do not need more than 800 mg of Ibuprofen every 8 hour for pain. Generally no more than 2-3 days. Larger graft may need more time.

In brief: It really depends.

This really depends on the type and extent of the bone grafting procedure.
Some procedures are very localized with minimal post-operative discomfort and need for attention while others are much more involved, with more discomfort and need for home care.
