Isopropyl alcohol irritated my sensitive skin. I used an acne treatment that had 91% in it and made my two pimples look like big discolored bug bites!?

Irritant reaaction. Although isopropyl alcohol is an excellent agent as an antibacterial, it is very drying because of its high alchol content. Care must be taken in its use on skin.

Stop the alcohol... Rubbing alcohol is very drying to the skin and so if irritation has developed, stop using it. If mild, keep areas moisturize with a good skin lotion and it will likey improve in few days to a wk or two. If more if more significant, some topical cortisone may help. Pick ingredients. Most over the counter acne products have the same few active ingredients, anything with salicylic acid is likley going to help, 2% is probably best for most. 10% glycolic acid washes can be helpful. Benzoyl peroxide washes can be great for acne, but hard on your skin, ie drying, redness etc. If you are having problems controlling acne, call your family doc! pick any non-comedogenic moisturizer.
