Many such meds exist, and these include zomig, imitrex, maxalt, frova, treximet, relpax, (eletriptan) and can be in pill form, nasal spray, or injectable.
The triptan is most successful if used within the first 30-90 minutes after headache onset. Other approaches include use of ergotamines, and even 100% oxygen. Your physician can prescribe one of the above treatments.
