How are congestive heart failure and coronary artery disease different?

CHF. Is typically caused by a weakened heart muscle or one that "relaxes" poorly whereas CAD is caused by cholesterol plaques in coronary arteries. Frequently CAD is present with chf.
CHF vs cAD. CHF is the inability of the heart muscle to effectively either contract or dilate the chambers so that blood reaches all parts of the body. This results in swelling of feet, shortness of breath, fatigue etc.Cad is due to chronic blockage of the arteries of the heart leading to inadequate blood supply causing chest pain. If acute obstruction it may end up in heart attack.
