If it occurs in older people with underlying chronic diseases it secondary. Parkinson's disease may cause the problem, also diabetes, multiple sclerosis and some collagen disease. It may present like irritable bowel syndrome and abdominal xrays show. There is no cure and medications may help. Surgery is a last resort.
