Always review whether or not that particular pacemaker must be far from microwaves, or magnets.
The other issue is MRI testing. Ask the manufacture of the pacer if it is contraindicated to have an MRI test. Nowadays pacers are small and some of the newest pacers have no problems with mri's or microwaves. Pacemaker batteries are checked several times a year they may last 5-12 years.
