To some degree. Once the diagnosis of osteoporosis is made, we first hope therapy will slow down and stabalize bone density. We then hope we will add bone density back. We may not be able to get someone out of the osteoporosis range but with proper treatment, weight bearing exercise, and supplements bone denisty should rise.
Osteoporosis. Currently it is better to think of osteoporosis as a condition that can be managed or treated rather than cured. This is usually performed by dietary modifications, ingestion of supplemental calcium, vitamin d and a class of agents notice the bisphosphonates. These are usually delivered via oral or intramuscular injection on a weekly or monthly or even yearly basis.
