Is cetaphil a good cleanser for oily skin?

Try This. Cetaphil has a new product on the market called "cetaphil dermacontrol oil control foam wash" that I have had excellent results with patients. I do not like to endorse one brand over another but this product has shown great results thus far. It is worth a try.

I cannot use menthol. Does the cetaphil cleanser for oily skin have menthol as a fragrance?

As far as I know, no. I have used cetaphil for years and I have never noticed any menthol in their products as far as I can tell. There may be a version of cetaphil that does have Menthol, so I also caution you to check the labeling prior to use. Read more...

Why did cetaphil oily skin cleanser break me out?

Various reasons. Any facial product will contain several active and inactive ingredients. I would recommend giving your face a break for a few days and try another product. Only use it on a small area of your face at first in case there is another outbreak. There are several holistic oily skin web sites available for your review to see if a technique suggested there might help too. Read more...

Can I use cetaphil oily skin cleanser while on roaccutane?

Use Cetaphil Gentle. While using roaccutane, use cetaphil gentle skin cleanser instead of cetaphil oily skin cleanser since surface oils will be reduced and local skin irritation will be a common adverse effect. Read more...

Do I need to apply moisterizer on my face after putting cetaphil oily skin cleanser on?

Yes. You should apply a toner and a moisturizer every time you wash your face. If your face is oily, you should use a thin moisturizer (more of a lotion than a cream). Not using a moisturizer can cause your face to produce more oil in an attempt to keep your skin from being too dry. The toner helps to restore pH balance after washing so that the moisturizer can be absorbed. Read more...

What is a good face cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and exfoliation that works well for my oily skin?

Foaming cleanser. For oily skin foaming cleansers or cleansing pads with alpha and or beta hydroxy acids work best (cetaphil has a great foam cleanser for oily skin and neutrogena has great acid cleansing pads), only use toners when your face is extremely oily as we need some oils to prevent the skin from looking more wrinkled and aged, exfoliate only once a week. I have oily skin, blackheads, & minor pimples. Is cetaphil good for my skin type?

Wont fix it. Cetaphil will not hurt your skin however it will not resolve the acne. If it is truly acne (and not pregnant) should try an over the counter benzoyl peroxide product from any pharmancy (anywhere from 2.5% to 5%, start with 5% to make life simple). Try 1x/day and if your skin does not dry out you can use it twice. Will dry the skin and help acne. If it doesnt help, you may need a prescription. Read more...

Does cetaphil dermacontrol spf 30 moisturiser really work on oily skin? Does it hydrates and prevents acne?

Good product. I was not familiar with this specific product, but I took a look for you. I believe that Galderma and the Cetaphil brand can put together a good noncomedogenic yet moisturizing product for daily use. I REALLY like the spf included here. HOWEVER, depending on your level and severity of acne, this will not be a standalone product. We could help you find a second topical to exfoliate in Prime visit. Read more...
