In brief: Calorie...

Is a calorie is a calorie.
.. Even though honey is a more natural sweetener - it stills has calories that have to be counted when restricting calories for weight loss. Good luck!

In brief: No it is sugar

Eat foods that are nutrient dense (like meat, fish, poultry, eggs, cheese, low starch vegatables and water) avoid foods that are not nutrient dense (like starches and sugars, including fruit) nutrient dense foods will increase your basal metabolic rate.
On the other hand, starches and sugars impair thyroid metabolism via affects on your liver (which helps activate thyroid hormone).

In brief: High glycemic

Even though honey is natural, it is a high glycemic food and thus would not be helpful in weight management.
I use a acai, kiwi all natural sweetener. Try to avoid artificial sweeteners as well.

In brief: Honey-wt. control

Honey is not usually helpful as it is a rapidly absorbed simple sugar and is not desirable.
Any carbohydrates eaten are better to be in a complex carbohydrate form and therefore slowly metabolized.
