In brief: Don't use laxatives!

Laxatives will addict your bowel and you'll never be able to return to normal bowel regularity.
Don't use them except on rare occasions. Eat a healthy diet with lots of water and fiber (roughage) and you can ingest additional fiber (not laxatives) to assist you. If still having problems, have your GI tract evaluated.

In brief: Constipation

The best is getting enough fibers, vegetable, fruit.
Drink water, and stay physically active. Also making a habit to go to bathroom, sitting and maybe reading for 15 minutes. There are also good result in some patient with bio feedback.
