Family Medicine

In brief: Combo vs single med.

Symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) is a combo inhaler made up of two medicines: Budesonide (steroid) and formoterol (long acting beta-agnoist).
Oxis is branded medicine formoterol by itself. So, basically oxis + Budesonide = advair. Oxis is rarely used by itself these days. If you have asthma or COPD and having trouble, consult doc. Good luck.
