EVERYTHING costs.: Someone has to pay. Your insurance company probably won't help because it doesn't satisfy their 2 unwritten requirements: 1. It must be inexpensive. 2. It must either be ineffective, or it must have unpleasant side effects so you won't want refills.

It's expensive: But will be generic soon. It is known generically as modafanil and is made by several companies, especially india. Why sun pharmaceuticals can sell modalert 200 mg for 1.59$ and Provigil is $14 is beyond me. Teva has bought cephalon and owns the next 2 companies i line who could make generics. In 2-3 years the price will come down and i'll bet use increases. It's a good medicine.
