Hand & wrist numbness - can joint pain be a symptom of carpal tunnel syndrome?

Possibly. Hand numbness, more so than wristnumbness, can be a symptom of carpal tunnel syndrome. So can pain in the digits of the hand. Predominately the symptoms are felt in the first three digits of your hand. Electro diagnostic testing may help determine if you have carpal tunnel syndrome or something else.
No. Carpal tunnel syndrome is not normally wrist pain, but numbness and tinging in the fingers. You need to see a hand surgeon to have your wrist evaluated.
Unlikely. Carpal tunnel is numbness of the thumb, index, long and usually half of the ring finger. Joint pain is more likely arthritis.

Two disc herniations 1 pinching C8 ddd canal stenosis and severe carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands. Which is causing severe hand numbness 3yrs?

Likely carpal tunnel. Both have overlap within the hands depending upon the distribution. MRI is necessary of cervical spine and in many cases if distribution is not distinct, further an EMG/Nerve conduction study to delineate. In most cases however, it is more likely the carpal tunnel is the culprit. Consultation/examination by a neurosurgeon would be most appropriate for diagnosis. Read more...

Initially used at night time. 2: steroid shots might be helpful, if the brace doesn't fully control symptoms, or in pregnancy, if severe. 3: when nothing helps ; the symptoms are severe enough to interfere in daily activities, then surgery is necessary to release the trapped nerve.
