B12 is vital. I highly recommend a book, "the world's healthiest foods" by george mateljan. B12 can't be made by animals or plants, but by microorganisms like bacteria. In addition to beef (grass-fed please), yogurt, low-fat milk, eggs, salmon, scallops, shrimp, venison, sardines are good sources of b12. If you are a vegetarian, it is essential to take vit B12 supplement. By the way, a great question.
