In brief: Not effective

Ascorbic acid, Acetic Acid gel, and povidone-iodine vaginal douches can be tried, but their use is not recommended, as they are significantly less effective than Metronidazole or clindamycin.
Probiotics may be tried, but their content is not standardized, and they are often of poor quality. There is no evidence for or against their use to treat bv.
