In brief: It can,until Rx'd..

There r many types of malaria, major early symptoms.
The fevers follow patterns, daily, every other day or every 3 or 4 days . I believe this is quartinary malaria (4) . It is treatable ; also preventable.

In brief: Malaria Fever

Malaria causes a recurrent, generally high grade fever, generalized weakness, and weight loss.
If you have recently traveled to an area known for malaria or other unusual infections, go see your primary care provider or health department. A blood test will answer your question to exclude malaria.
