West Nile virus. The virus is transmitted by mosquitos. The mosquitos become infected by feeding on infected birds. You can not contract West Nile virus by kissing or touching another person.

This virus uses the cell's machinery, creating a polyprotein that is cleaved to both structural and non-structural (ns) proteins. One of the ns proteins is a polymerase that is responsible for synthesizing the (-) sense RNA molecule that serves as the template for (+) sense genomic progeny rna.

WNV. West Nile Virus is a mosquito borne infection that originated in the tropics. It causes a flu-like syndrome in 20% of those infected. It causes neuroinvasive disease.
You can't. It is not catching person-to-person. The reservoir is birds. You can do what you can to eliminate standing water where mosquitoes can breed.
