Not in the sense that a cold or flu is.
Staph is a bacteria that is common and lives on surfaces, like the skin, etc.. Most of us are in contact with it all the time, and 80% of people eventually are colonized with it at least some of the time ( that is it grows on you, in your nose or on the skin) sometimes it can cause disease, like after a flu it can cause pneumonia.

So it is not transmitted like a cold is ( someone coughs on you and you get sick) If you are exposed to staph you may be colonized and later if susceptible get sick. say after another viral infection. Staph skin infections are very contagious and can be transmitted by contact with broken skin. This is most common in contact sports like wrestling
