When do babies usually take naps?

In brief: Several times a day
One-year old babies nap about 3 times a day, usually after a feeding and some play-time.
As long as a baby is happy and thriving, it is not that important whether the baby naps two, three, or four times a day.

In brief: Their own schedule
Babies' nap schedules often set themselves.
Most infants will sleep on and off throughout the day and night. These naps gather into one morning and one afternoon nap at around 4 months of age, and then become one nap at around 18 months of age. Children will continue to nap once daily until 2-3 years of age, although some children will nap until they begin kindergarten.

In brief: 3 naps a day
Babies are all different, but generally around 3 months or so many are taking 3 naps a day.
A morning nap around 9am, mid-day around noon or 1 and a later afternoon nap. Times may vary slightly depending on what time bedtime is and what time your baby wakes up.
