Small cell/oat cell carcinoma is one type of lung cancer.

radiotherapy is commonly used in stage 2 and 3 (limited stage) small cell lung cancer. in more advanced disease, on going clinical trials are looking at using more localized radiotherapy to try and better slow the cancer than chemotherapy can alone.
