Is it normal for a 16 year old to have heart burn?

Pretty common. Much of the heartburn in teens is diet & lifestyle related. Products with caffeine or caffeine like substances (chocolate, colas, energy drinks) relax the upper stomach entrance & allow easier backwash of stomach acid. Napping after a meal adds to it. Spicy foods, etc. all add up. Avoiding the triggering foods & not laying down for at least an hour after meals can help. Some need short term meds.
No. Heartburn is one of the tell-tale symptoms of gerd (gastroesophageal reflux disease). I'd start with some dietary changes (smaller more frequent meals, less acidic foods, give up caffeine, soda, cigarettes and alcohol, which can aggravate reflux). You may benefit from elevating the head of your bed when you sleep. You may want to try over the counter meds for reflux. If all else fails, see a dr.

Abd pain after taking Excedrin yesterday. Tums (calcium carbonate) last nite. Better today but intermittent pain and heart burn. Stools ok. Egd last year norm. Causes?

Abdominal pain. It sounds that you have been stressed out (which can cause increase acidity in the stomach leading to abdominal pain and heart burn) and then you had to take a NSAID for something, which can exacerbate the acidity of the stomach and lead to pain. Try to relax as much as you for the rest of the weekend and find distractors from your stress. Tums OK, add Pepcid (famotidine) for a week. Read more...

I have Gastroesophageal reflux diagnosed 2 year ago with endoscopy! Why I dont had heart burn like others? But cough an mucus collect on throat?

GERD . Not everyone has the same symptoms of Gerd. If you notice that your cough and mucus improve with therapy for Gerd, that is a good sign that you have figured out the reason for it. I would continue your therapy recommended by your doctor. Anti-reflux measures such as tilting your bed in avoiding certain foods are a good idea too. Good luck. Read more...
