Cervix biopsy. Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (leep) is a low risk way of removing dysplastic (precancerous) cells/tissue from the cervix. It's an office procedure with local anesthesia to treat high grade (cin ii or iii, cis, or hgsil) lesions seen on colposcopy. A second opinion from any gyn or gyn onc would be appropriate if needed. Your doc should be able to give you all the information you need.
LEEP. Leep stands for loop electrocautery conization procedure, and essentially removes about a triscut-wafer sized rectangle, usually, from the cervix which is intended to remove and dysplastic cells. Usually used for high-grade lesion, also coded as hsil. A second opinion from another obgyn would be a good idea.
