In brief: Not yet

There are several animal studies underway looking for an effective drug but at this time there are none.

In brief: Not exactly

Antibiotics are ineffective.
Treatment of sars so far has been largely supportive with antipyretics, supplemental oxygen and ventilation support as needed, isolation, negative pressure rooms. There no evidence that antivirals, steroids or other therapies helped patients. A few suggested they caused harm. There is no cure but we can support our bodies to eradicate the viral infection.

In brief: Virus

Sars is caused by a viral infection in the lungs.
Unfurtunately, we depend on our body to heal this type of injury. The danger of sars is that the virus causes severe damage to the lungs and it takes months for the lung injury to heal. Thus the virus is dead, but the damage caused by the virus takes a long time to heal.
