Fifths disease. While slapped syndrome is a common childhood illness of childhood it can be devestating for some pregnant womenwho get exposed to the parvovirus b19, the causative agent ofthe disease. It produces a severe anemia to the fetus whichcan belethal.
Really common. Known also as fifth disease, parvovirus b19 is responsible for it. The slapped cheek symptom is especially common in young kids who get parvovirus b19.
