Tongue piercing is irritating.
Irritation causes excess salivation. This may resolve with time or it may continue until you have the jewelry removed, no way to tell. Also be very careful about making sure you do not bite down on your new ornament. Many people have fractured teeth accidently. Both of these possibilities could change your speech patterns.
