Why are? Viruses so much harder to cure than other illnesses?

Viruses can hide. It's a complex question because there are many different viral and bacterial diseases. In general, all you have to do is to kill bacteria, whicto an be easy to do with the right drugs. Viruses are simpler, but killing them isn't enough. As an example, the genetic material of viruses like hiv, herpes, varicella, and hepatitis b can live dormantly in your own cells, hiding from the effects of drugs.
