In brief: Many causes

Many things can cause tingling of the hands and fingers but some of the most common are: carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, peripheral neuropathy, and herniated disks in the neck/cervical spine.
There are also vascular issues that can sometimes cause tingling.

In brief: Carpal tunnel

Numbness and tingling in the hands can be a sign of carpal tunnel syndrome (cts).
Cts syndrome usually affects the thumb, index, long and half of the ring finger. Symptoms may be worse at night. A pinched nerve in the neck can also cause numbness and tingling in the hands/fingers. See a board certified orthopaedic hand surgeon, for evaluation and treatment. Check out www.Assh.Org for more info.

In brief: Tingling

You may have carpal tunnel syndrome.
Try wearing some wrist splints when you sleep at night and take an anti-inflammatory pill. If no improvement you will need to see a doctor and get a nerve test.
