When saying "catch", you would need to be more specific.
As far as being a carrier, yes, they can, unless they had as a child. As far as having symptoms of it, much less likely, as it is common in children and adults have probably had it even if it was not diagnosed as such.

Most have had it in childhood and are immune.
If they did not, they can certainly develop the infection & experience the rash that comes with it.
