How do you treat granuloma annulare?

Steroids etc. Granuloma annulare is a condition where granulomas (little lumps of immune reactive tissue) form in the skin. Treatment is usually with steroid injections into the granulomas, but other therapies include ultraviolet light therapy, creams, and oral medications. Speak to your doctor because choice of treatment depends on what your condition looks like.
Injections. For a limited number of lesions, i recommend intralesional injections of triamcinolone acetonide (steroid). This works quickly, predictably and and very effectively.
Granuloma Annulare. Because granuloma annulare usually causes no symptoms, you may not need treatment except for cosmetic reasons. Very strong steroid creams or ointments are sometimes used to clear up the rash more quickly. Injections of steroids directly into the rings may also be effective. Some health care providers may choose to freeze the bumps with liquid nitrogen.
