Pathology

In brief: ACTH from pituitary

By definition this is caused by an acth-producing tumor that causes the adrenal glands to overproduce cortisol.
Any cause of too much cortisol or some other substance with cortisol-like activity will produce obesity, hypertension, glucose intolerance / high blood sugar, mood changes, immune compromise, and red face (c's syndrome). This is always serious and you need a skilled physician. Good luck.
