What can you tell us about a heart cath procedure?

Invasive diagnostic . A heart catheterization is done from a groin or arm artery by passing a very small hollow plastic tube to the heart. Pressures in the heart can be measured through the catheter and liquid dye can be injected to make an angiogram to show how strong the heart squeezes and whether or not there are any blockages in the coronary arteries. It is an outpatient procedure with local anesthesia.
