Be careful. Perisitant sore throats, lasting more than 2 weeks can be a red flag. If this is the case consult an ENT specialist. For sure if you smoke, stop.
Fok remedies. For significant sore throat with swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see dr & get a streph throat test. Consider tylenol (acetaminophen) or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications. Saltwater gargles: mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle several times a day. Or gargle with aloe vera juice twice a day. Add honey & a small amt. Of lemon juice to chamomile tea.
Sore throat. Voice rest. Gargle often with mixture of warm salt water, hydrogen peroxide, & alcohol-based mouth wash. Do not swallow. Warm salty liquids like bouillon or chicken broth help. Throat lozenges with menthol &/or Benzocaine can temporarily numb soreness. If it lasts more than day or 2 or is getting worse, see your fp/pcp for evaluation & treatment.

.What can I do to make my sore throat go away. I've been experiencing a sore and red throat for the past three weeks. And I noticed on one side there's a small puss bump in it. I've gurgled with warm water and salt and use throat spray as well.
Without. Without having the benefit of visualizing this area, it sounds like you may have a mucopyocele of the oropharynx (basically an obstructed and secondarily infected minor salivary gland of the throat). A trial course of appropriatelly directed antibiotics and office-based marsupialization of the cyst (basically an I & d) may be of benefit. A general rule of thumb is persistent sore throats not improving over several weeks should be checked out. Its also possible you may have a small peritonsillar abscess or peritonsillitis with tonsillolith fomation. One wouldn't know without looking.
Sore throat. Is too general but then you can take honey lemon halls, ricolas, drink plenty of warm liquids with honey lemon or ginger, honey lemon tea, peppermint etc. You need to eat or take those ensure or boost drinks if no appetite for solids. Take a day or two off to get complete bed rest to get yourself back in shape quickly. If no better, condition worsened, see your physician. Flu is going around too.
