Why does my baby have so much gas?

In brief: Gas is mainly...
...Swallowed air. Improved latching, a different bottle, or (most often) better burping will usually help.

In brief: Inadequate burping
Usually, the cause of excessive gas is inadequate burping.
Make sure that your baby burps with every feeding (some babies need even more than one burp per feed). Try different positions with burping, but just make sure that it comes out, because the gas may make your baby fussy. There are other causes of excessive gas, so don't hesitate to discuss this with your pediatrician.
