Although there are many advocates of co-sleeping (parents and babies in the same bed), this is not a safe practice.
It is definitely associated with a higher incidence of sudden infant death syndrome, and it's simply not worth the risk. The american academy of pediatrics recommends against it. When the baby has passed the age for sids risk (1 year old), bringing your child into your bed is safe.

In brief: RISKY BEHAVIOR

The classical story of the wisdom of Solomon described one woman stealing the infant of another because hers died when "overlain" or smothered by the sleeping mother. We lose approx 100 infants per year due to co-sleeping.
Your choice, but I would NEVER suggest it.

In brief: No

A baby is safer when sleeping in a bassinet or a crib.
Adult beds are not designed for babies, and thus can be dangerous for babies to sleep in.
