When my connective tissue disease flares, I get so tired my breathing slows & then temporary stops at night & I wake up dizzy repeately in the night?

Doesn't fit. Even if connective tissue diseases flare, the respiratory muscles work. Stopping the normal breathing cycle is not part of the flare. Stopping to breath at night suggests sleep apnea. On the other hand, the symptom of dizziness suggests hyperventilation or anxiety. It's important to have these symptoms checked out by your doctor.
